Daniela Cohen was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, and moved to Vancouver, Canada, at the age of sixteen. She holds a BA in Psychology and English Literature as well as a BEd from the University of British Columbia. For the last seven years, she has enjoyed teaching ESL to people from diverse cultural backgrounds. She loves discovering new places, learning different languages, and practicing yoga. Daniela is currently based in Hoedspruit, South Africa, working as the Amazwi’s NPO Manager, Senior Editor of the Amazwi Villager, and columnist for the Canadian Immigrant.

Artist: Pamela Gien

Pamela Gien is an artist who was born in South Africa, and now lives in the United States. She is the author of the Syringa Tree, a play about the experience of life during apartheid South Africa from the perspective of a young child.
